Team to watch: Niagara. The Purple Eagles don't have the exposure that Siena has had but they are a quality basketball team that will make some noise. If the MAAC wants to be a two bid league, it would start with Niagara winning the conference tournament.

Player to watch: Ryan Thompson. The guard from Rider was the second leading scorer in the conference and also in the top ten in steals and assists. The junior was named as a first team all-conference player.

Upset watch: Rider. The I don't see either Niagara or Siena losing until the finals, so if one of them were to get beat, it would be Rider pulling off an upset and making a run.

Tourney watch: The Saints have an outside chance at an at-large bid into the NCAA tournament. Niagara must win the conference to get in. In the end, I still see Siena pulling out a close victory to secure a bid instead of sweating it out on Selection Sunday.
