Team to watch: Kent State. After making the NCAA tournament last year, the Golden Flashes went through a brutal schedule early in the year hoping that it would pay off come March. With a 10-6 conference record in the conference, they need a championship to be able to play next weekend.

Player to watch: Jerome Tillman. The forward from Ohio averaged almost 18 points per game and grabbed 8 rebounds as well. Tillman was named to the first-team all conference and is a force inside that is hard to control.

Upset watch: Akron. With a very young team, the Zips have played inconsistenly on the offensive side of the ball. However, they are the best defensive team in the MAC and have the ability to beat any team. I would not be suprised if they came out on top of this tournament.

Tourney watch: The MAC will get one team into the tournament and that spot is in the air. Nobody really stood out during conference play, and at the same time there wasn't too many that struggled. With the experience and tough schedule on their side, I like Kent State to repeat and go back to the NCAA tournament.
